Use either just stuff it and weld the hell out of it first. If you can't do that you better start looking for a Chrysler pointy bumper. Either of the two that you mentioned above will NOT hold up in stock form

Thanks for the input. We cant stuff bumpers out here but both bumpers are heavily welded. I've done well with an impala bumper out front a couple times but I broke the last one in half and that got me thinking about the newport bumper. So between the two what one do you guy think is better for this application?

I would personaly take a 73-74 over a 75-76 due to the 5's and 6's rolling up in front of the A arms if left stock. but to each there own, both are stout.

U have got to love peoples personal opinions. 73-76 are exactly the same from the a-arms forward. The only difference on the frontcstub of these is the 73-74 has the transmission brace com in ng off the "box" and doesn't have the brace on the outside of the "box" and the 75-76 has the brace on the bo and crossmember goes out to the edge of frame rails. Other than that EXACTLY the samd

73-74 a-arms forward are different then 75-76 if you set them side by side you will see that there shape is different

On the 75-76 the top inside edge of the frame in front of the first cross member is dimpled in. Its a small but significant difference that makes them have a tendency to roll up right behind the brackets.

a couple pieces of all thread in the right places will slow that roll down alot! and besides who cares what it does in front of the a arms, its a rear steer vehicle, nothin but a radiator i n front of the a arms. make sure it moves with the core support and you are golden! 1975 front frame

Yep sure will there are a ton of ways to keep them from rolling. The question was weather a 74 or a 75 would be better in a stock show. Since there isn't a lot you can do to stop the 75-76's from rolling after the front brackets in that type of show i recommended the 74. As for it being better that they roll up front as apposed to the fire wall that's personal preference. But everyone i have seen go in front of the A arms went right into the tires limiting steering or pinning the tire. For me it has been easier to pull a front end down at the derby then to pull the front end back out.

i ran a 74 , 4-5x. last run i notched the frame in front of the a arms to keep it from bellying so fast. 74 stock is def stronger in front of the a arms.

You notched it to roll up? That sounds brilliant.

Ive always been skiddish about notching in front of the a arms for any reason on ANY car. Wanna get that out of the way lol.....just because if it bends just a little in front of the a arms it creates even more upwards leverage at the firewall, which then is a lose, lose situation. Then if you notch it too much, every bit of strength is gone in front of the a arms and it wads up around the motor. I do see the logic on a car that youre trying to limp 1 last run out of if its a short run scenarion but to me the negatives outway the positives for ME to personally do it .

Hmm not sure I would notch in front of the a arms but different ideas is what makes this site such a valuable asset.
