The 74 is just like the 75/6 in the back but the 73 is its own one year only rear frame. Yes build them the same but the 73 needs some more attention. the 74 has a better rear frame than a 5 or 6.. check em out side by side.. u will see the difference.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if there was a certain front clip that fits up fairly good to a 73-74 caddy CDV?? I think my frame is ok but I would like to redo the front clip??? Any suggestions??? Attachments:

Pull the fenders down and get a new hood. Looks like the frame still straight.

Maybe I'm way off base here but if rules would allow it...couldn't you just cut the package tray out of a "regular" old iron GM and weld it in place of the caddy one so you wouldn't have to screw around getting a standard GM rear end in the car? I don't have a caddy to measure just yet but I would think it could be done if the width between the humps is close.

I don't even have the car yet so I haven't been able to see the stock setup in person...just brainstorming about it for when I do find one.

If I remember correctly this was on the other site under the Cadillac tips but crusher had mentioned if u take the tie rods off the main steering bar and disconnect the pitman and idler arm u could flip that main bar over to gain a couple inches of oil pan clearance ....question is are you grinding out the holes for the taper of the tie rods?

Or you could buy ZTR D.I. Legal upper mounts only... Accepts factory style control arms.. And your 10 bolt will bolt right in this way... Cheap and easy without all the extra work of cutting, measuring, welding, etc... I'm sure CheezWhiz would agree..
