Motor mounts are easiest to leave on the motor and remove the nuts that hold them to the crossmember. 3/4 socket and a short extension amd you can get to them from under the car.

When you say you cant alter the tranny tunnel, are you meaning you cant cut it out? Unless you can use a tranny protector, you need to cut the tranny tunnel out.

I don’t believe I can Cut on the trans tunnel. Are you talking like a slit down the middle or how much needs cut out? I will read the rules closer. It is stirring dirt rules in Utah

Unless they changed the rules for 2021, every Caddy in Days of Wreckoning had the entire tranny tunnel removed.

Back to your original question, the 2019 Stirrin dirt specifically stated 74 and older caddy crossmembers had to be factory width. The 2020/21 rules state must mount in factory location, so I would be cautious about welding it to the frame.

I have a question. The floors are pretty rusty and scaly from moisture on the inside. They look good from the bottom does that hurt the structural strength? The scaling is just where your feet go front seat and rear seat

I dont think the floors matter too much with limited weld rules. I built a wicked hard 72 Cady that had no floors except what's under the seat.

Depends on how bad it is, sometimes we’ll patch the scale, sometimes we don’t. Location and show dictate

I know alot of people are running 80's ford spindles on caddys to gain height. Was wondering if anybody has tried using ASTRO van spindles on these, and if so how well do they fit? And do they gain you any height vs ford spindles?

I have a random question . Would an actual bumper 74 be more forgiving as in it will flex a little on impact not bend just flex compared to say a 6x6x1/4 tube with a 74 ish point ?

Just my personal opinion I'd much rather have some sort of point on the front of a Caddy compared to a flat bumper such as tubing. My cars with pointys or 74 Chevys held much better than my Caddys with flat bumpers which were all 76 Buick bumpers

Came across a CLEAN 74 Eldorado. Didn’t know of anyone has converted these things to rear wheel drive. Has extra bracing up front behind the Aarms. Don’t mind the work, like running cars that are a little different from time to time. I guess I’m asking if the juice is worth the squeeze. Thanks in advance.

Shawn There is a Eldorado thread on here, I have seen a few run before and they have done decent RWD converted.
