Just put my front clip on my 74. On my last 3 caddys I haven't but seen.one the other day had all of the metal inner fender trimmed out. Is this a good idea bad idea? Leave in the majority of it. Thats stuff is a big help if used correctly.

they can be very good but they take a lot more work then other cars to live up to their full potential. It helps if you have some welding skills too

New to Caddy's. Are the 73 Caddy front bumpers good? How are the rear bumpers?

put a 74 chevy, or pointy on the front, there is no caddy that has a good front bumper, 73's dont really have a rear bumper is just a skin, kinda like a 73 chevy

I was still wondering if I should've shimmed the body mounts under the fire wall. I hope someone can enlighten me on this. I think since I didn't shim it my car nosed quicker then my last one.

My Caddy on the last page had all the stock body mounts in it and none pulled out.
Started looking thar one over last night at where it bent. They sure do bend differently than other GM's. At the firewall i had to cut away the fenders to see that it bent right in front of the body mounts. I would almost say they frame moved instead of bent, actually looks like the top of it rolled and there is a hump on the outside corner. Hoping to get it pulled down tonight and we will see how easy it is to make an Olds clip fit.

The 2 I got bent inside that webbing for a frame. One going up the, other pushed in and up. I'm going to definetly pull that one. I wanted to put the crossmember, but I'm not sure if Nationwide would let me get away with it. I'm thinking I closed up the gap at the fire wall, between the frame and body, and probably forced the frame to tweak different. I shimming mine when I fix them, maybe inch or two.

Nationwide doesn't care anymore. Just do it.
