Got a 2004 impala with the 3.4, plan on running stock class, no bending or creasing. Just wondering the pros and cons of hot wiring the trans before I do it. Also, is there any "cheap" tricks to do to it? Already plan on running the coolant temp sensor inside the car, but should I lose my back bumper? Is there any way to keep the stock front bumper from bending all to hell?

Is a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix with the 3800 in it considered a W-BODY Technically yes. It is a 2nd Gen W. Not nearly as desirable and has a longer wheelbase. Lot of guys like them for gut-n-go type classes. We tried one ('03) last year for that and were thoroughly unimpressed. The more sought after GP's for a builder's class will be 96 & older (gen 1).

With some smart driving. Daughter ran the one last year. She likes to mad dog it.

With a sub swap, their pretty comparable to the gen 1, but probably still a touch softer up front

Hello hello, got a newbie question. I'm looking into getting myself a new build. Never had a W body yet. I have a pretty broad choice of vehicles at my disposal (lucky me) question is. Which years/models are better than others? I know for a fact there is probably a few W body vehicles to choose from.
