I don’t know. I’ve only ever seen it done with the stock 410 explorer gears. Im sure what you are saying is a thing. I just don’t know anything about that.

A 355 is just a rebuilt 350. It requires less work and additional parts compared to building a 383.

What kind of car, what class, what rules, and what are the track conditions?

One out of a civic is small and has its own fan. Just a thought.

I looked at a 2dr we got and thought hummm maybe it would be a interesting build to try. I got pics of frame an all somewhere X frame car, gigantic holes in front and behind the engine crossmember, front rails dip down, rear rails dip down at bumper, way X frames work rear humps would be junk. There really isn't much redeeming about them other then the fact they are made or steel. Yes any car can be made a mod car and I guess you could consider that a good car, but you could just start with a metric GM (which is on my lower end of "good" cars) and be light years ahead. JUNK

Any recommendations on an aftermarket shifter for these? I have an early 90s wagon I'm going to mess with You can buy one or make your own cable shifter. It’s usually the last thing on my list. Mostly because I have never lost a compact derby because of my shifter.

Has anyone ran an A/C condenser as a transmission cooler? I have concerns about the flow abilities. Obviously, it would be mounted inside the car.

Sell it to a collector. Not a good car for derby. The front frame rails are super short. Curious whats not good about them? Short front horns can't be the downfall. The front frame stops like a foot or less in front of the tire. Otherwise Im sure it’s likely similar to any other Caddy. Never looked at one closely. Couldn’t get past the front frame horns.

This beauty found its way to my house, should make a good wire car 🤔 I love a 73 impala post car. Especially in a stockish limited weld show.

I just got a caddy 1962, anyone see one run or got some tips or trick to share. Sell it to a collector. Not a good car for derby. The front frame rails are super short.
