I'm proud guys. Well into page 2 and we managed to stay pretty civil. Maybe a little bit of holiday cheer? Turns out derby guys can discuss national level poltics and such without getting uncivil, just for the love of everything Holy dont bring up aluminum heads, piston squirters, or evac tubes.

I was thinking it, but wasn’t going to say it. Didn’t want to jinx it and was worried somehow it would start $hit and I was enjoying being able to have a civil conversation on here. Greatest thing about America. Everyone’s opinion should be heard. Some are just wrong 😂

Another aspect of all of this that has angered me is no "leader", no matter which party or other beliefs pertaining to lockdowns and restrictions, has came out and said that one of the best things anyone can do to beat a sickness is we should all eat better and exercise more. For this entire year the entire debate has been what should other people have to do to "protect" me, but nothing has ever been brought up of what we can do to protect ourselves. People want to call those who do not wish to lockdown grandma killers, but we dont call people who are taking up ICU beds mainly because they lived unhealthy lifestyles before they got infected the same thing.

. yes physical fitness is not the only factor, but Chris Christie spent a week in the ICU where someone roughly the same age and access to the same kind of health care reserved for politicians, but much more healthy, Rand Paul, was at home with the sniffles and didnt take cause any strain on the health care system.

rk.md/2020/how-do-n95-masks-work/What's cool is that the function of an N95 mask is from electrostatic charge. Otherwise it's just a piece of paper. Read the article, but there is quite a science behind the patent that came up to develop that electro-charge. Otherwise no other device other than a respirator is protecting the user - ie cloth or fabric coverings.

. I could only wear a surgical mask or bandana. They wont allow N95 respirators because they "dont protect others" you must have had a valve in it?

Yes, it was a 3M model 8511 N95 that most industrial places use.

I just thought it was funny how government told us all to mask up and everyone listen to the government. Government told us to shelter in place and everybody shelter in place. Now you have people questioning government when government is trying to tell us what we can and can not do. My intent was not to start an argument. Thanks for not arguing.

I think the paper and cheap earloop cloth mask is there to make people feel safe. like how kids hide under desks during a tornado drill. does nothing but makes em feel comforted, now something like a p100 respirator would be more efective imo

^They are 95% effective as the 95 in N95 implies. Its one of my huge pet peeve when I see a chart shared on FB of where that lists N95s as anything but 95% I read somewhere that the number is the percent of particles filtered, and the p stands for it filters out oil /liquid mist n stands for dry. i definately think this would help more than a bandana or surgical mask, because it can filter airborne water/spit particles.
