I've been working on an off-road buggy/sxs/death cart (poor man's budget)for the past year and a half you know with work woman kids and money finally got a test run in and all went well, what I'm working with engine wise is a 3400 sfi (3.4l) came out of a pontiac van , took the wiring harness besides the bcm. Well I had it running no problem then rain came down hard blew off my tarp I had put on before heading to a derby, and rain and electrical don't mix well it messed up the whole passlock 3 system on it and caused problems first it would start then die right after fire up found out it was cutting off power 2 injectors tried to reset with key on for 10 min cycle even did the 30 min cycle nothing because I figured (after researching) need the bcm to help reset correct if wrong. So I went a different route easier not as much of a hassle I decided to carb it, I modified the intake to accept a rochester 2 barrel carb with #52 jets, I had 2 carbs one was size 50 with a choke but was starving for gas the 52 seems 2 work really good rpms are up at full throttle no problems start up is a little hard gotta pump it twice on a cold start but fires right up runs better warm (deleted entire pcm) hotwired my transmission which is a 4t65e moves real good but problem that I'm having is I'm wanting it to shift through all gears idc if I don't have OD I just wanna get it to hit 3rd gear which it's a 4 speed but 3rd is really all I'd need I know if you put the shift solenoids on different switches you can force it into end gear(much rather put into drive and it shift on its own not having to flip a switch) I'm wondering if anybody knows how to hardwire the trans to shift into all gears or at least hit first second and third much appreciated if anyone can help. my plug has 16 wires instead of the seven or 12, like I said it runs good but need help with trans and if need be I still have pcm if I could wire that just for the transmission less wires the better

Maybe make another lever next to the shifter and wire contacts to solenoids so you could almost shift it like a manual. Might want a tach too. Not sure how well it would work, just throwing out something to maybe play with.
