For compact class cars what type of tires are permitted? Also on a pre-ran car that had a plastic core support section, that is now destroyed. Can I weld a piece of the same gauge steel as the core support . To replace the shattered plastic? Thanks

Any tire can be used. For the core support you can use threaded rod and #9 wire to repair it, no welding.
