Been looking at BBR and Double d power steering setups, any others I should be looking at? Never ran aftermarket power steering before. What have you had good luck with? Recommendations? All related info is appreciated. Will be ran on a SBC.

I have had power steering issues for years running stock setups. I tried many different pumps from the parts store. Even tried to rebuild one myself. None ever really seemed to last all that long. A couple runs and they all seemed to leak or would get smashed or broken from the frame bending. Last year I bought a DD head mount setup and I absolutely love it. JMO

The circle track style pwr steering pump setups are nice. They have a remote resivor that can be mounted anywhere and you can change how much power assist it gives you. Krc is a big name brand for them. Check your local swap meet out. Or go with one of the two vendors you mentioned, you can't go wrong with any of the 3.

Have had BBR and DD for years now. I really liked both but have been going with DD on the last two and love them. Great service too. Got one missing some stuff one time and 2 days later all was at my front door.

DD for sure. I thought BBR stopped making steering kits quite a while ago. I usually destroy a gear box before having any issues with my pump setup

I made my own setup a few years ago. Used a remote reservoir and mounted it to the engine protector. I have a lot less in my setup than anyone selling one then or now.

I have the BBR setup and am running a full cradle with halo. Were are you mounting the resavoir? It's either to close to the fan or in the way of the top radiator hose.

I mounted my reservoir on my dash bar, opposite side of the firewall, on the passenger side of the bar. Spent about $60 on longer hydraulic lines and bent a shroud around the reservoir to keep the fluid from giving me a bath if the lid happens to come off.

I heard somewhere that you can just loop the power steering lines on the stearing box and it will at least hold fluid and wont be that hard to steer. Anyone ever done this?

^^ I did this quite a few years ago on a gm box and all was fine but rumor has it a ford steering box won't hold up looping the lines. Never tried it didn't want to find out the hard way
