Are ztr brackets allowed in the 80s wire class? The upper brackets are fine the lower control arms must be factory you can move the 98-02 fords to the inside of frame but you must use a factory control arm from a 1980 - 1997 ford. You can use a 4" long piece of 4" x 4" box tubing to mount control arm to frame. Can W bodys be carbed for the youth heat? Rules don't say anything about not being able to. Thanks Yes they may be carbureted

So on the 80's wire class these are do and don't that I'm trying to figure out.
Car must have.. Factory rubber mounts Factory engine mounts No down legs from cage to frame No gas tank protector No full wheel centers or beadlocks 1980 or newer bumper
Can do.... Engine cradle,dp, transmission brace, slider, braced 5 lug rearends, change body bolts, aftermarket steering, gas pedal, brakes. Weld washers on body for wire. Change front suspension on 98+ to 80's style suspension with aftermarket tie rods. Watts conversion on 98+ but must use factory trailing arms(can these be strengthened) Weld bumpers on. If running a mercury or lincoln can the front frame be cut back to the length of a crown vic?

If running a mercury or lincoln can the front frame be cut back to the length of a crown vic? Cars must have a 1" space between body and frame you can use hockey pucks, stack of washers, factory bushings must maintain the 1" space. Factory rubber frame mounts must be used for the motor mounts. you can change control arms to the older style ones aftermarket or welded tie rods allowed. On 98 and newer fords you can move control arms to the location of the 97 and older ones the control arms must be stock ones no reinforcements. Engine cradle,dp, transmission brace, slider, braced 5 lug rearends, change body bolts, aftermarket steering, gas pedal, brakes. Weld washers on body for wire is permitted. If using a DP it may not be wedged in car to strengthen front end if this is done the firewall will have to be cut. Any rule questions you can call Russ at 614-376-2363 (evenings or weekends) or Tim at 740-857-2033 if no answer leave a message and we will get back to you
