Cork with permatex on the valve cover side only so I when I put it on or take it off it stays with the cover and I use the ring that goes all the way around the top edge of the cover to distribute the pressure more. Also studs instead of bolts to hold it down.

I use the little like 3 or 4" long tab deals to tighten them down. Just the bolts will warp valve covers if your not careful. And ALWAYS check the valve cover mounting surface with a straight edge in case someone was careless before you.

Rubber only... I always hated cleaning old cork gaskets off the covers and the heads. Worse yet is when someone cakes on the Orange permatex on both sides of the gaskets and you have to get in there with air tools just to clean it off.

Rubber with the Permatex on the cover side only for same exact reason.
Never have had good luck with the cork, have used em in a pinch but they don't last as long.

X4 mostly cause they are cheap, a wire wheel cleans them off the cover side quite easily.

I use to use cork with silicone years ago, never had any problems, last 10 years been using rubber until this last weekend at metal mayhem never had one ever leak.Might of been a fluke deal who knows. This is why i'm considering something else for next derby we attend.thanks for suggestions.

Ditto, the fel pro steel core is the only way to go. If you are still using cork and silicone.....you are wrong.
