For limited weld show. Weld A arms forward, weld outer factory seams solid, cage with no kickers and may not connect to frame, 2 allthread through trunk but not connect to frame.

The Caddie will eat the impala ALL day long with those rules!!! No question!

Even with the low front end of the caddy and the impala having a much better back end?

ALL day long! Our Caddies don't sit low.... And impalas are nothing anymore anyway! A vic has a harder nose than they do. They were awesome back in the day, but really aren't that competitive anymore!

Would the impala gain anything if you could weld frame seam back to the firewall and have the allthread through the trunk to the frame?

The rear of a 75 Caddy is not that much different than a 75 impala. There is an art to making either one of them predictable. As far as the front, well that's an apple to oranges comparison. The only reason that Impalas have always been so popular is that they were the best factory built derby car besides Imperals. Back in the day a bone stock Impala won most stock type derbys. They had good frames, good bumpers, and SBCs. Put the Impala M/T, and bumper on a Caddy and look out. JMO

I would love to run a caddy! I had a 73 brouham a few years ago never got to run it.

I have a 75 caddy deville and had an offer to trade for the 74 impala. I know the impala bumper is 5x the bumper of a caddy, but I have Newport bumpers and can get a mid 70s fury bumper too.

How would a 69 Fleetwood compare to the 74 to 76 GM's if I close the y's??

I'm sure the caddy would be the better choice. The front end of the caddy is much stronger as long as you change the bumper
