what fly wheel and torque converter did you use? Haven't put it together yet but picked up a 86 camaro 305 flywheel 153 tooth ill let u know how it works I got a 153 tooth flywheel off a 305 and it didn't work. Center bolt pattern was too big for the motor bolt pattern. What flywheel torque converter set up can I use?

I have access to some old mercruiser engines and strongly considered trying it just wasn't sure if it was that beneficial. Thanks

The flywheel I have is a 1974 Chevy 305 153 tooth and the center bolt pattern is too big. I got a small omega flywheel that has the right center bolt pattern but the bolt pattern for the torque converter is off by about a half inch.

You'll need harmonic balancer, timing chain cover, rods, and the 3.0 crank out of a 88 or older mercruiser. You can go with the stock 2.5 Pistons or upgrade up to a 350. You'll also need a Chevy 283 flywheel with the 153 gear. Anything different will blow the nose cone off your starter.

Yeah I had read up on it quite a bit I have an old 2.5 that I traded for and am not sure of condition so I thought about rebuilding as a winter project for me and my 2 boys but I wandered if there was enough gains to justify the additional work and price just wanted to hear opinions from some that have used them. HP? heat? Any negatives? Thanks

Figured it out used a monza flywheel but had to drill new holes for the torque converter and used a monza starter worked great

What year monza flywheel and starter? I bought an older s10 flywheel for a 2.5l and the crank pattern was correct but the torque converter pattern is too small once again. My motor is out of a 1982 jeep cj7.
