It has it's own goofy bell pattern, I know where one is in a yard with a manual I should go pickup as an investment

^^^Early fwd 3.8 car also had the standard BOP bell. That's a tough trans to find. Really? How early? Had an 86 with the metric pattern. Maybe the old 3.8 fwd diesel did?

The pattern "looks" the same but measure top 2 bolts they will be diff from metric to standard chevy

Most of these 2.5's that are in front wheel drives (actually all that I have seen) have a cable that is linked in with the throttle cable/cruise control and runs down into the the top of the tranny. I don't know, but my assumption was that it was a tranny kickdown. Does anyone know for sure what it is. The reason I ask is because, I put a carb. on mine and was curious if this cable has to be tied in with the throttle some how. These trannys do not have the round plug on the front like the newer 3.1 trannys do that are in the luminas so I know they don't need wired up.

You don't need it IMO. It's a valve for determining shift points. Pull the little lever up( what's left after cable is gone) and silicone it there, will shift at higher RPMs in drive then. EDIT- to clarify it is not a kickdown

anyone know how to hot wire distributor/module? (1986 cutlass ceira) carbing 2.5... Run a hot wire to little pink wire at module black should be grounded already, crank sender is on back of module so no wires for that.
