Just wondering what brand everyone else has been using. What's most comfortable and is it really worth the 40 bucks for them?

I've got 2, one for me, and one for whoever rides, both Kart ones that had the dip in the back. They were under $30 a piece off eBay. They work great for getting hit in the back, but not so much when making forward hits, it definitely flips my head forward and rings my bell, depending on the severity of the hit. Can someone suggest a better one for forward hitting that is just as good for getting hit from behind?

G-force is about as basic as you can get at a decent price, rci is what I have, If your looking for a quick fix till you can get a better quality I would recommend hitting your local Walgreens/ cvs pharmacy and look for a cervical neck brace.

That EVS one looks cool! Some braces are U shaped and some are O shaped. If you're going to be doing most of your hitting with the front, I'd get a O shaped one.

16 yrs no neck brace, prob should have, also consider a mouth guard (3-cracked teeth) no steering wheels involved.

Another thing a lot of guys overlook is a good light helmet. I bought a new helmet and neck brace in 2010 to shut my wife and parents up. Glad I did. It's been 5 years since I woke up sore from a derby. Forgot what that felt like. Will never run without.

I agree with that^^^. And a full face one at that. I got a broken nose from when I didn't have one.

Never tried a neck brace before. Can you still turn around and look easily? I only drive backwards so not concerned about front impacts

Never considered the weight of the helmet. Guess I need a new one now lol. I've been meaning to get a racing one instead of a motocross one, because apparently the motocross ones are not rated for fire protection. Yes you can still turn your neck fine to look behind, I don't even notice I have one on until the race is over. This video is from this past weekend, you can see I can turn my head all the way both ways without interference www.youtube.com/watch?v=ws7Hq5J3gu4
