I was assuming he meant the front plug but with mention of a starter button maybe he did mean the flat one next to the linkage

Did you rule out fuel delivery as a problem? Check the jets, filter, pump to ensure it's not a fuel issue.

Yea. With pump off I can still hit the carb and it’ll squirt gas fine

well it turns out the tank didnt have as much as i thought...vapor locked and the carb quickly ran dry...primed the pump with the new coils already plugged in and bam she fired

You guys are awesome. The sticky at the beginning of this thread has changed my Baja Bug's future for the better. Next steps are installing oil pressure and water temp gauges, toss a radiator on it and run it to operating temp. Do some paint work to the bug so I can drop the whole assembly in. Thank you so much for sharing the knowledge about these cars. youtu.be/FoM9dY_QWZ8youtu.be/7ekgnco-7xg

Hey, I have been derbying for a few years now from compact to full size trucks. I have a 2001 grand prix gt 3800 i am just throwing it together for a home town stock midsize class. I have a couple questions like. Is there a anti theft system in this vehical and can i cut a wire to dissable it? Is there any type of inirtia switch that kills the injectors or anything i need to look out for.
Thank you

There's no inertia switch that you have to worry about.
