Saw a bunch run in the '80's in very stock shows. Nothing to write home about.

Joey Kocomo ran that 66 wagon. The rear was kinda a big pillow for people to take shots at.

Seems like these cars and the 73 to 78 are starting to come back now in stock shows. Is a reason I came to look throw pics of how they are handling it.

I've ran against a stock 65 Mercury Monterey in a D.I.B.S. rule show, every hit against him just completely wadded him up.

i would put 65-72 fords and mercs, and late 69-72 lincolns in the category of worst full size derby car after the 50s. Truthfully would never suggest anyone waste time with one unless it could be run with very very little work and in a stock show in a small muddy arena. I know someone is gonna be tell me there uncles buddys brother in law ran one 8 times, but we all know those stories.

So you know my uncles buddy's brother in law? He actually ran it nine times. His tires were full of water too. He really knew how to build those cars I tell ya.

I'd take a 69-72 Ford/Merc or Lincoln over a pre-70 GM any day. 65-68 Fords are another story, but 69-72 aren't all that different than 73-78 Ford aside from the last foot or two in the rear, similar to a 71-73 GM.
