At this moment, the online portion of this game is not up and running. But when it is, I think this game, like the previous one will work pretty good for demolition derbies. I've been testing the damage model on the cars and it seems wheel damage is more pronounced in this version in that a damaged wheel will lock up more often. Also, I've not been able to make a car catch on fire by just ramming it into a wall until it dies. Basically, cars just quit running which will make demo's easier as a fully damaged car will not explode damaging other players cars. The engines, when damaged, also backfire and run real rough which is nice.
Just noticed there are 2 different kinds of crew cab ford. You have to get the one with the lift kit and big tires to really offroad. Some cars do good donuts. Some not. THe big woody station wagons are slow.
I did get one to catch fire finally from ramming it into a post and got out. After waiting a bit the fire went out and I couldn't get back in. I don't know if it would have exploded if I kept driving it. I also got an ai car to catch fire after repeatedly ramming it on a freeway onramp. The driver of it had long since fled. It too eventually went out without an explosion which is nice. The only time I've been able to blow up a car from impact is by driving off a high cliff.

If no one has found it yet, on the map at G-4 is the Vinewood racetrack. This will work perfect for demo derby's as it's a dirt track that you can enter from the parking lot to the west of the track. Look for the casino sign to find the parking lot.
