I know this has been a thread before but couldn't seem to find it. I have been recently told the geometry of gm old iron are sound and a tilt would not be beneficial yet the most competitive drivers in my area have their old iron tilted fresh at every derby. Advice?

I tilted one but never ran it. Sold it and never heard from the guy who bought it.

I have tilted one (75 electra) and it bent sideways at the a-arms. Friends have tilted them also and had the frame horns twist down or belly hard at the firewall. Never seen one truly benefit from it.

The issue with the most competitive drivers around us don't exactly use the front end in hard core shots or take shots that will effect the car in anyway ie, the fenders, doors and most deffenitaly not the front or back bumpers unless the opponent is already starting to bend in a bad way so it's easier on their cars and always hit square and never run with any bumper with more point than a 74 impala bumper. Beneficial I'd say yes but it also comes down to alot of very patient and persistent driving skill to keep it from going in any direction other than in and then up. I'll be tilting mine this year with confidence it will do what I want it to.
