Has anybody relocated their pcm? Where is the best place to mount it using the exisiting wiring harness? Doesnt look like theres much room to move it.

I've relocated my pcm to where the dashboard use to be at. I'll post some pictures once I get it all in there. I'm still moving the harness up from beneath the radiator. I thought about going through and removing useless wires so I can just pull it out for next neon. I've got 2 of them right now but they are easy to find for 100 around where I live.

In the process of doing the same thing , does the group of wires even go to anything other than lights and ac. I haven't gotten into it that much yet

So I ran my first neon over the weekend needless to say it didn't go so well.couple hits in and fuel pump crapped out on me. It was hard wired in to my tank from battery. Anyways I moved the computer from the front and had it all tucked outta harms way so should be good there. I changed pump at the derby got fuel to the rail next thing I know no spark at the coils. So what do u guys think I might have missed? Bad crank sensor? Or something else?

Is computer grounded? Make sure it clicks on when power to car is turned on.
Did you check all your fuses after replacing pump?
Make sure no small ground wires going to fender or core support got cut during derby up front. I always move all ground wires to the strut towers.

norton81, Im having a problem similar to you! I just bought my 4th neon and it was already partially stripped(really cheap, didn't pay $200 for it). The computer and battery were moved and half of the interior taken out. I had to hard wire the fuel pump otherwise it wasn't getting any ground. Im getting power to the starter solenoid but no power to the cam sensor or the ignition coils? Does anyone know if it could be the computer not being grounded? Or maybe a cut wire between the solenoid and the coil? Thought it was weird that I didn't have any ground to the fuel pump either...

Try running a ground strap from the head to under a nut on the top of the strut . Also check the white wire with a red strip coming out of the computer that needs to have 12volts if not then jump it straight to a main power source. I can not remebr exactly what the PIN number for the wire is. But I had the same problem as you and I did the ground and jumped that wire to get power to cam sensor. Good luck hope it works.

ok guys I picked up a 95 neon and need to know what I need to look out for in removing the dash from the car (like ground wires or security features). Does anyone have a diagram for wiring this car up with toggle and push button as I don't want to run it off the key and would like to eliminate as many wires as I can. Never built on so need all the help I can get and there isn't too much info in this thread yet.
Any tricks or tips to make the front end stronger? I will be mounting a 73 buick bumper on the front. What do you guys do to get ride height in the front of these? is there a certain or preferred way to tie the motor down incase the mounts break? are tierods weak in these cars?
I know Im asking a lot of questions, but not much of these have been addressed on here

95 is the best year it should have the small computer and have the sohc motor in it, the only problem is sohc have plastic intakes, u can swap dohc aluminum intakes over to a doc just gotta drill the ports out a bit, the sohc will run even hot I have ran with no rad before no problem just make sure you take out the thermostat, just cut the center out. As for making the front end strong brace by strut towers they belly there. If allowed to plate, plate the rad support, also run all thread down through hood and rad support and through the hood to the k member so if the k member drops it has to take the hood with it. And you wanna crease the whole front keep it tight so it doesn't really smash easy. Yea the tie rods and spindles suck tie rods I weld rebar to them as for spindles I make spindle savers like they run on metric race cars. As for motor mounts weld and chain solid it takes stress off the cv axles, also pull rubber cups back on cv axles and I weld a tab across the joints to keep from coming out. Run exhaust through the hood it makes a lot of room to keep the crank sensor wires from touching the manifold. For the rear pre bend by lower part of the speaker deck and tie struts together so they don't blow out, that's the weakest parts in the rear. I'm not saying this is the best way to build a neon just what I have found out over the years of derbying em and running enduros with them.

I do not but the easiest way I have found is to buy header off eBay they are anywhere from 50-80 bucks and I just cut the flange off and turn the pipes up through the hood and reweld and then I run a chrome 6in stack down over the pipes and plug weld it. Someone mass produced em but idk who. Another thing i forgot to mention is the in tank fuel pumps don't like abuse so I usually go to the junk yard and pull a ford inline pump or u can also buy em off amazon real cheap u want the e2000 pump u will not need a regulator.

someone stated that the strut towers like to break and pull the CV axle out. what part of the strut usually breaks? is there a way to reinforce it?
I am running mine in a figure 8 and is there any suspension parts I should reinforce besides tierods
