Was contemplating downloading this game.. Kinda looks like nobody plays anymore though? Can it be played offline or is it an online only game?

When derby season picked up, the game died down a lot. Last winter it was booming pretty good. Hopefully people come back and want to start playing again. I still gotta redownload it onto the different OS I am using.
I am pretty sure that you can play it offline. But if you are wanting to run against other real people and not computer generated cars you have to play online.

Hi there folks, I downloaded this game. All links still work although I'm having issues trying to play. I currently run on Windows 10 right now and I'm not sure if there is any compatibility for that. I installed everything that was needed not sure about #7 package though. I didn't install the Xp package because I don't run that OS. I cannot get the game to load on Windows 10. Also when I go to run the configure.exe, It shows as I don't have the Hardware software thing. So when I run that utility it always defaults to the 98/Me/2000/XP setting and it won't save my changes. I see it also came with a config.ini and VIDEO.cfg. I'm not sure if I need to edit any of those files to change something to allow this to run on my High end PC gaming Rig. I use to have the darn CD for this game. Hopefully someone can help me out here.

I agree. pretty sure it hasn't been updated. It works on windows 7 but potential to have problems with it. some people did and some didn't.
I redownloaded it when I went back to Vista instead of 7. Everything downloaded fine. Played a little and seems to run good.

It lets me pick my track and car but once it starts loading to start the event it kicks me off Hi Demo 16 When downloading, for Vista and Windows7, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE XP patch or the game will crash. When downloading for XP and Older, download the XP patch. For Windows8 and Windows10.. you do not download the XP patch. However, to the best of my knowledge the glitch in directx9 emulation of Windows 8 has carried over with windows10. The game will run, but plays deadly slow, which is not playable.

I have two jobs and little time for hosting. I will host again. However a storm took out 2 of my 3 computers. I still have a working backup of the game, (all my work, tracks, and cars as work in progress and modeling is lost). I want to create another backup system before hosting again. I will work on some of this in the next week. If we are lucky, I will attempt to get a game going. I would assume that I will spend more time remembering how to configure my own router, let alone everyone elses lol.

Download the game, its an excellent single player game. As I haven't had lots of time to host, (I used to host nightly for about 5 years straight)I still play this game almost daily in single player mode.

However, you are onto something. You can load the config.ini into notepad and put the setting to software. I will load a picture if needed. You don't need to edit the video.cfg (although someone clever might be able to figure out how to expand the resolution but that's another story) Now, while I have seen this game work on Windows8 and Windows10... the problem is that it won't play at speed. Its deadly deadly slow because of a glitch in Microsofts Directx9 emulation. Its supposed to be the same as used in Windows7 and it worked in the early betas of windows8, then they changed something and have been in no rush to correct the goof up.

Everything downloaded fine. Played a little and seems to run good. It works on 99% of windows7 and I believe I have figured out why it didn't work on some video settings. Some people have set the large screen monitors to a virtual screen and it must be set back to normal screen display.

Well I tried all the usual compatibility modes and no luck. I gave myself permission in every way possible under the sun. Windows 10 makes you add legacy software from their Windows Features in order to run very old games tried launching with and without that running and no luck.
It would be nice if someone was really edit the code under the hood so severely it could run on high resolution with all the settings. Or someone create a brand new game with all the same rules and stuff and maybe nice HD graphics flying dirt, real crowd. I could see it all in my head and I'd play it in a heartbeat haha.
