We are thinking of bringing 2 cars from AB Canada.. But since the rules changed allowing engine and distributer protectors .. We are second guessing .. We cant run that stuff and have no experiance with that stuff.. Dont want to travel that distance and be overly outgunned ... The old rules ( more stock) were better i thought..

After much consideration and conversation with drivers as well as our tech's we have made some changes to the rules. There may be minor changes along the way as needed, but for the most part these are the final rules. "Impin" the engine distributor protectors as we are allowing them, will not add any strength to the cars, they will only protect the engine and the distributor. I hope you will reconsider, we are looking forward to seeing you all! If you have any questions, please feel free to call Rich (707)689-6252.

I guess I dont understand the need for protectors when you can cut out the firewall for clearance... Saves headaches for tech when they have to measure the distance between every DP and dash bar... It just sucks for guys like us to come run , we would have to spend ar least a grand in Cradles, protectors, braces, and slider shafts just to be competitive... And Id really hate to get tore up and broken by someone with a DP touching the dashbar... Could you guys please note all rule changes for us on here and the website to keep us updated please

Hi Impin, This decision was a consensus based on the opinions of many. We are trying our best to please everyone, but that is really difficult to do. If it helps, the DP's are not allowed to touch the dash bar, if they do, the driver will be dq'd. I will continue to update you if changes are made. These are the final rules; however, we may notice corrections or clarifications from time to time that need to be made. There should not be any more major changes however.
If at the end of the show your DP's touching the dash bar your dq'd what kind of rule is that ? That's crazy . I have been derbying for 30 years and that would be a HE%% of a way to lose $10,000 dollars . We are thinking about coming , all the way from Ohio i hope nothing like that happens .

no you will not need to be voted into the feature.. just win the heat and you're in the feature.. usually around here they take the top four or so into the feature.. i'm not sure exactly how they are gonna do it but.. its how it usually is at shows around here.

There will be no "voting" into the main event, this is not a popularity contest. We have a separate judge for each car in each event, they will judge on a points system. One judge per car, completely univolved with anyone in the derby. Those with the highest score (ie: 2's instead of 1's) will make it to the main. There will also be a conse heat.
As for the DP's, these are the same rules as Metal Mayhem uses for DP's. We wanted to allow them, but now allow them to be used a method of cheating. If you are concerned the DP may hit, don't run it. Our rules for the DP allow you to run one; however, it doesn't make or break a derby car, it's meant simply to protect your distibutor. The DP should not make the car any stronger!
Our goal is to make this as fair as possible for everyone!

First, I wanted to send out a message to clear up some rumors that have been going around. Rest assured that no matter how many cars show or do not show our event WILL GO ON and the stated prize money WILL NOT CHANGE, no matter the car count! We are working hard to give you a great event that will be fun and fair for everyone.
Second, we have had a lot of concern with the last changes we made to the rules. We have realized that building the cars to those specs is both expensive, and time consuming. We want everyone to be able to participate and because of that we are asking for all of you to provide input and help us define a perfect set of rules that will work for everyone. We would like to have the "final" rules out by January, so if you are interested in helping out, please respond with your input by emailing us at: firstname.lastname@example.org by no later than December 15.
We are sorry for the inconvenience, we will get this all ironed out and the event will be a great time for all! We hope to hear from you all soon. We wish you and your families a wonderful Christmas and a very happy, healthy, and hopefully wealthy new year!!
