I just doubled a tire. But when I was almost done getting it on bead ripped the bead with my pry bar. Is this ok or do I have to dismount it?

Did you rip the bead of the stuffer tire or the outer tire? If it was the stuffer I wouldn't worry about it but if you ripped the outer gripper... How big of rip?

It was the outer gripper and 1.5 inches.

Yikes, IDK man. If you could figure out how to screw it to the bead I'd still run it but it sounds like your screwed otherwise. I've ran them with a torn sidewall but never with a torn bead.

Where I run we cant screw it to the bead. I put liquid nails as bead sealer going to put on the car and roast em. If that don't work at least ill have fun with it! (my tube was patched a few times so don't care if I need a new tube)

I have torn the bead on tires that were outer tires on doubles and just regular tires, I never had one leak or blow off the rim later.

I'll give it a try again in a few fays had enough. Going to buy big tire spoon maybe I won't rip the bead again. Tractor supply has some not sure if its going to be big enough.

Funny..I have mounted many tires by hand with prybars. hardly ever damage a bead. Are you sure you are not getting gready with it at the end ? Sometimes a guy gotta take smaller bites. I would think even more so critical with a doubled tire

Chances are I get frustrated and ruin the bead and tube.
