I AM WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS RUN THE LS ENGINES WITHOUT WATER, FOR HOW LONG, AND WHAT HAPPENED AT THE END? I HEAR THAT THE BOTTOM END HAS ISSUES WITH OILING AT HIGH TEMPS AND WONDERING HOW THE RODS AND CRANK HOLD UP AFTER RUNNING WITHOUT ANY COOLING FOR SAY, 25 MINUTES?

That's what happens when you try to run a junkyard engine that already has a 175,000 miles on it or an inexperienced builder put it together. These engines are alot more detailed that a conventional SBC, you just have to be very careful and get everything just right on them, they are great engines, how many SBC engines out there have 200,000 miles on them and have .002 wear in them block.

The LS engine are set up very tight from the factory, this is why we do not run them without a rebuild on them. We have plenty of LS engine cores right now for building, let me know.

More progress today, looks like weather permitting we should have the floor poured by Wed, they have to finish the re bar and cut through the existing wall to match up the floor from old to new. Dyno pit turned out perfect. Attachments:

No dirt or work like that on the new side, we will save that for the older shop. This is going to be the very clean side, engine assembly and dyno work.

If someone is needing there own parts thermal coated we can do that, pistons three ways and heads, what ever you want, send it in and we will get the coatings done for you. we do all this in house here and it turns out really well. 550.00 for the pistons and 300.00 on the heads, let me know if you have any questions. 573-225-6886 or 573-788-2329

Here a pic of the coatings. The to is the thermal barrier, side of the piston gets a dry film lube and the bottem gets a oil shed, works really well with the piston squirters that we do. Attachments:

Riggs, I sent you a pm with your specs, tell him to keep the converter tight, I do not like having a sloppy loose converter that just builds unneeded heat in your trans. They are planning on pouring the floor in the morning, everything is ready, I know I am. Attachments:
