If the ford is solid I'd grab it up, Worth more than 150 as scrap or parts. Put a box ford or gm metric clip on that new style and you'll be more than surprised with the outcome. The front sheet metal on those are junk as well as the core support. You cant beat a solid ford from that era, They are the cats ass. We just cant find any with a reasonable price tag within 500 miles, So we run 88^ all the way into the 2000's.

How do you switch out the steering on a early 60's Ford? I am used to Mopar cars where it is just a slotted pin that needs to be punched out. The ford looks like it is all internal.

Cut the outer tin sleeve just above the gear box, this will expose a solid shaft that goes into the box. Cut the solid shaft and weld a knuckle to it, build your steering setup from there

I cut the shaft off 2 inches above the steering box, weld a u joint, weld outer steering shaft from car steering, Slid inner shaft from car in hiem joint with washer welded on each side of hiem joint, weld mount for hiem joint to dash bar. Weld nut for quick release steering wheel on end of shaft.

We may not have all the answers but, we're big enough to be questionable.

I have a couple ford truck questions.....I have never worked on a truck to derby so any help will be appreciated. first.....i found a 79 f-150 2wd. It has a front loader rearend under it and i wondered if anyone can tell me if that year truck would have a 9 inch rear under it? second.......will the doors off a 93-95 f-150 bolt onto an 89 f-250? Thanks in advance for any input.
