Here's my rusty Suburban. Didn't last long, the distributor cap broke off. The rear side/roof tore off like a tin can. It's a good thing we're allowed to ubolt the "bed" to the frame, or it may have been a lot worse. This is AFTER we bent it back down with a skid loader and chained it down. More pics later.

This is my advice for building a suburban... i'd build it like a pickup... new the suburban the better possibly a 90's model.... --- you have to ... have to sedagon it... --- weld bolt the tailgate to the floor and wrap it around the back.. --- stuff a car bumper between the frame rails... then wrap the tailgate around it... --- fold the side in on the box.... weld or suck them down with new body mounts thru the frame --- add new body mounts... --- put a different rearend in em... ford 9's go in really easy... --- chain the rearend down as close to the frame rails as you can get it... --- run the smallest rear tires you can find --- crank the front end up as high as you can --- put good or the longest bumper brackets on the frame rails as possible.. --- ready rod upfront thru the body mounts are a must... --- like i said build em like a really tuff pickup...

got an 83 3/4 ton 2wd no 4 by 4 allowed. Pretty much stock rules with front bumper swaps and body mounts, no extra. Any tips?? First gm and second truck build. Bought for trans 400 bolt in yoke and 14 bolt floater in rear but might as well wreck it ;D

Builds are pretty basic and easy for stock class. Bart 2525
