I ran a new style (2002) I believe rear bumper on the front of my van (and all compacts for that matter) and only ever bent 1. That was because it went head on with a 70 Eldorado. Oops.

anyone ever run a 98 ford windstar? How do they hold up?

The windstar van had a recall on the front cv shafts, don't remember which years as its been awhile. The issue caused them to rust out and snap in half...just something to watch out for.

i might possibly be able to get a 98 plymouth voyager or an early 2000s honda odyssey and was wondering what would be best for a stock derby?

You guys that are running early model Caravans....you have pretty good luck with rear axles? Meaning do the wheels stay pretty straight, or do they get all twisted up like most fwd cars.
Using the axle from one under a W body car.

I would compare the rear axle from an old caravan to the rear axle of an old k car. The hub will bend in, but it won't fold down (lugnuts down) like w body cars do sometimes. And you can also weld a gusset behind the hub so they dont bend as easy. When they bend and start to dog track, you can unbolt the hub and straighten it out with washers.
