Pretty simple builds. Bumper swap, weld as much as allowed, etc. What year and model?

I figured I'd read the Honda tips on the old site when needed them. Well, now the old site is gone & we're building a '90 Accord 4 door. I found out that step one for changing transmission filter is to remove the transmission from the car....no joke.

Cover the positive stud on the alternator, remove the thermostat, hotwire the fan, run donuts, tuck and notch, change front bumper, ect.

If it quits running and you are not getting any fuel or spark....check the main relay under the steering column. These cars are notorious for eating main relays for some reason.

Ive never changed the filter....pull the tranny?...wow. I usually dump in some Lucas and go. Yeah, It's acting like it is getting clogged. After driving it for a few days, it starts taking forever to engage....like 30-60 seconds. Once it finally engages, it stays that way. Let it sit for a few days, so the sludge can settle back down & it engages right away. I thought it was a little odd that the new filter was a cartridge, not a flat paper or screen. Crawl under the car...no trans pan. I'm thinkin' wtf?? Did some research and sure enough, it was a short lived design that involves removing and partially disassembling the tranny. We only have 2 compact demos left this year,so we are gonna wing it & hope it slides through. If the car is still alive after that, it can be a winter project. If the car is dead, that's ok...we need the transmission to finish off a nearly dead '94. We can do it when it's out of the car anyway.

Which reminds me.........the 94 is a 5 speed. It quit being able to go into 1st or 2nd gear. The clutch felt good and all other gears worked. We smoked the clutch from starting out in 3rd gear. Any ideas on what could cause that. If I can't figure that out, the plan is to put the '90 automatic in it.

I have an 88 Accord that's been through 2 derbies. I notched the rear frame rails, welded the trunk shut, put an '80s Mopar bumper on the front (with boxed ends), hotwired the fans, threaded rod through the hood, reinforced the upper a-arms, stuffed the front tires, ran donuts on the back, and took everything out from under the hood that wasn't necessary. Been through 2 derbies and going for #3 next weekend.
