Weld 12" on door seams, no allthred thru trunk, 1/2" body bolts, braced rears, DPs, Full cradles, PPs and steel bell/tails. Trunks were handicapped, noses were a different story!

What was your process to shape the trunk? building a 72 buick, and interested in doing this if I decide not to tuck my trunk lid.

Just throwing it out there quick so we can keep the thread pictures, that roof support helped alot on that car. Unless hump plates are allowed, in my experience building a trunk that hard will put the stress into the hump or on a glass house in front of it. I may be missing something in picture on the build but just an observation.
72 buick you will benefit more, usually for most rules, with putting a channel lock on the frame and bending the c down and a simple tuck.

Yeah that's what I did with my 72 impala this year. I run limited weld rules with body mounts changed and rubbers taken out, all exterior body seams welded solid, and A-arms forward frame seams welded. The back bent right at the bumper bracket, and hadn't got to use it enough to bend further forward. Probably going to do the same concept, except put the dimple about 6 inches from where the box frame starts. I plan to beat the humps in pretty good to help them be as strong as possible. Thanks for the input. I appreciate it.

Yes it did help it. We were allowed hump plates. And on the trunk it's nothing hard. Just all-thread n factory holes and tightened them up for the most part. About how some guys do it with a jack and chains. But easier in my opinion.

All my trunk dishing has been done with a sledge hammer and a little sweat. Good looking car, hope it was a good one.

Run a chain from your cage inside your car to your back bumper, put a jack under the chain, on top of the trunk. Pull the chain tight over the jack, jack it up. You'll have to tighten and repeat a few times to get it further.
