I’ll be running a mildly built 355 with a turbo375. The 375 I bought didn’t come with a converter. The engine has the comp cam 268 and I know a lot of guys are running this combination in their cars. What stall converter are you guys using?

Go to O'Reillys and buy stock converter, that cam isn't big enough for a stall for one and secondly stalls make the trans slip causing heat y0u don't need in a derby

A higher stall doesn't slip the trans but it dies maybe fluid hotter.

Will any internal parts from a 700r4 fit directly into a th350? A friend has a th350 which is missing the rear reaction carrier among other snap rings, check balls, etc. We have a 700r4 than we ran but burned the clutches in and were hoping to swap the 700r4 parts into the th350. Thanks.

A higher stall doesn't slip the trans but it dies maybe fluid hotter. It does not slip the trans, it slips the converter causing the excessive heat. Also stall converters are designed to work near peak torque of the engine when selected correctly. Unfortunately we are not there through the course of a normal derby. Heck most of the big moneys shoes need REALLY LOW stall speeds so they can just idle around easier!

I have a th400 trans from a 78 caddy coupe DeVille. Has the 425 engine. I was wondering if the trans is the same as a BOP trans. Looks close but not positive. I want to use a BOP adapter to a sbc. Does anyone know about caddy transmissions?

This trans was ran last year and very tight still so want to use it behind a sbc. I’ll order the bracket then. Wasn’t sure thanks for the info!

I had one pushing fluid like that even with the vent tube cleared out. 5 minutes into the show with a very slick track, trans went out.

This track was very muddy compared to normal an I didn't have my tractor treads with me. Thing just kept puking fluid but never stopped pulling. Getting swapped while I get it out before it's dropped in for Friday. If the other one is puking too I'm told the cooler may not be getting it cool enough. But never had problem before.

So I have a bop trans bolted to a sbc with bracket to make it work. But when I went to line up the torque convertor it doesn’t match up to the sbc flexplate. Torque convertor is to big. So my question is would I have to swap torque convertor out or the flexplate? Kinda out of ideas.
