check for a plugged filter, or sucking air into the pump. or the converter can cause it

Will a 5 speed off a 4.3 fit on a 5.0 or 5.7 motor?

I have ran th350s behind 4.3s so Im sure it will bolt up but you will need the proper flywheel for the engine being used. Internally or externally balanced.

What would I find the longest slip yolk in for a th350 ? The one I have is really short an only catches about 1/2 of splines would like to find one a couple inches longer (she would too) so I don't have to cut my driveshaft

The ones from soeedway work goid but you have to clearance the output shaft to allow proper travel or else you gain nothing. Also when fully extended like in the beginning of the run, sometimes the long slip yokes can twist. Ive only ever twisted one but it can happen. It did not break but after the splines are twisted it will not travel freely. You could likely have it heat treated and hardned but that's way beyond my realm of expertise.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't even think about having to modify the output shaft.

I little grinder work is all. I have even done it in the car with the car running. I used a trash bag and aluminum foil to keep the grinder shavings out of the transmission. If done on the bench or in the car its goid to keep it spinning while grinding in hopes to maintain some sort of balance. Ideally it would be best to use a lathe while the transmission is apart during a rebuild.

Hydrolic tranny fluids like for tractors and so on works awesome higher boiling point temp doesn't get near as hot n it still works n shifts the gears it's clear n a little thicker but ran it from 98to 05 when I retired but marking a comeback this yr in good ole 2017 in memory of my good friend n derby budy #00 Mike Craft from Springfield MO but I'll be in W88 hope this helps bud best of luck this yr

Derby2Racer, I recommend Red Line High-Temp ATF. It's 12 bucks a quart, but the only way to hurt it is to contaminate it-otherwise, you can use and reuse it indefinitely.

Going to run gm 4 speed and a slider. What's your opinion on connecting them? Going away from 3 speeds. Would the slider slide in just like the 3 spd?
