Does anyone have any advice for making a shifter for a metric transmission? It is in an 89 caprice, been thru a few heats and need to make this change to run again. Any advice would be great. i made one once just bolted it to the holes where the mount goes and used the shifter in place of the spacer that was there that tranny was garbage though the output shaft moved in and out almost 1/4in before i even used i

Anyone run 700 r4s? How would you compare them to the 350 turbos? I've only ran 700r4s I've never had one blow up and I've ran them hard. Does the 350 react quicker and you can get more speed? I've heard that the 700r4s don't react as quick when putting it in reverse. Well I finally lost Rev in mine, been running it for 3 years, never used a Trans cooler, and I'm not easy on it...I think they take the abuse, I would like to get another one..but I have turbo 350 in the garage sitting so ill use that till it breaks and go from there.

you will need to go to a transmission shop or use parts from a core to fix that 350

I have a 84 Caprice Wagon. I ran it Sat. night at the local track. The car was doing great in my heat. I made a half track shot with my front, threw it in reverse and had nothing. I lost EVERY gear, and when I try to put it in Park, it grinds hard. Any ideas what might of happend? I was running a cooler with a fan. My heat only lasted maybe 8-10 mins. I made finals but couldnt get it going.
